(LOS ANGELES – November 18, 2013) – For the second consecutive year, Kevin/Ross Public Relations is a triple winner in the international MarCom Awards competition, just announced.
Kevin/Ross earned two “Gold” awards – one in media relations and one in editorial writing − for work completed on behalf of Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena. The award for media relations honored Kevin/Ross’ role in calling attention to a new “bionic suit” available at the hospital’s outpatient rehabilitation center that allows paralyzed patients to walk. Huntington Hospital is the first hospital in Southern California and only the third in the western United States to offer the suit, and a major press event organized by Kevin/Ross attracted media from all local print, television and radio.
The editorial, which appeared in the Los Angeles Business Journal, spoke about the important role philanthropy plays in the lifeblood of nonprofit hospitals. Kevin/Ross was also honored in the editorial writing category for work it did on behalf of SCAN Health Plan. That piece, which appeared in the healthcare trade publication Payers and Providers, recapped the critical contribution nonprofit health plans and hospitals have played in the evolution of healthcare in America.
The MarCom Awards is an international creative competition that recognizes outstanding achievement by marketing and communications professionals, both corporate and agency. It is one of the largest such competitions in the world, this year attracting more than 6,500 entries from the United States and several foreign countries.
